THE West Australian Football Commission has appointed coaches to the WA Women’s State 18s squad for the 2012 Youth Girls National 18s Championships in Adelaide in May.
The appointments include:
Head Coach: Michelle Harris – South West level 2 coach with experience with both male and female youth talent development teams.
Assistant Coach: Nikki Harwood – Player-coach of the premiership winning East Fremantle Women’s football team in the 2011 WAWFL Premier League competition.
Assistant Coach: Allana Dickie – Coach of the Swan Districts youth girls team and player for Swan Districts’ WAWFL premier league team.
Manager: Janet Seth – Manger of the 2011 WA State 18s team and the East Fremantle Women’s Football Club team.
WAFC Emerging Markets Coordinator Elly Lambkin said she was confident the new look coaching line up would challenge the 18’s group to take their game to a new level and achieve greater success at the championships.
“Hopefully we will be able to knock off the Victorians next year after going down by only 10 points in the 2011 Grand Final on the Gold Coast,” she said.
