Mining town kids’ first taste of real footy

A GROUP of 35 kids will swap the dust of the Pilbara for the bright lights of Perth this weekend, with Pannawonica’s Auskick participants invited to play at an AFL match for the very first time.

Auskick players between the ages of five and eight will put their skills to the test at half-time at Subiaco Oval, during the West Coast v North Melbourne game this Sunday 22 August.

Older Auskick players, aged nine – 12 years, will play at half-time of the WAFL game at Bassendean on Saturday, providing a chance for all the kids who play footy at Pannawonica to participate in the trip.

Quality assured for Warwick Greenwood

Warwick Greenwood Junior Football Club in the Subiaco District, are now proudly the first junior football club in the district to be acknowledged as a Bronze Level "Quality Club"

The AFL recognise the importance of ensuring quality at the many thousands of community clubs across the nation and see it as a valuable tool to ensure the sustainable growth of the game is retained and improved upon.

Secretary Neil Hall has been instrumental in the club achieving its bronze level.

Quality assured for Claremont District football club

WEMBLEY Downs Junior Football Club in the Claremont District has received a Bronze Award in the West Australian Football Commission’s new Quality Club Program.

The concept of the Quality Club Program is to provide an opportunity for all community football clubs in WA to achieve a minimum standard of club administration and to recognise and reward clubs for their achievements in reaching these.

Clubs can achieve the three levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold, with Bronze representing a base level commitment to providing a quality club environment for players, spectators, parents, coaches and umpires.

Quality assured for Perth District football clubs

TWO junior football clubs from the Perth District have become the first in the State to receive Gold Accreditation in the West Australian Football Commission’s Quality Club Program.

Maddington and South Perth Junior Football Clubs have both achieved Gold accreditation in the Quality Club Program, which provides an opportunity for all community football clubs in WA to achieve a minimum standard of club administration.

Clubs can achieve the three levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold, with Bronze representing a base level commitment to providing a quality club environment for players, spectators, parents, coaches and umpires.
