Bring a Buddy Function a Great Success

The AFL School Ambassador NAB Cup ‘Bring a Buddy’ function was a great success last Sunday, February 21.

The Ambassadors and their Teacher Buddies shared best practice and heard about the School Days of four AFL players including Casey Sibasado and Hamish Shepheard from Fremantle Football Club and Adam and Scott Selwood from the West Coast Eagles.

These players gave an entertaining account of their school days, talking about their best teachers and favourite subjects when they were interviewed by three ‘budding reporter’ students.

A number of Ambassadors and Buddies went home with some fantastic prizes provided by the FFC, WCE & WA Football Commission including Western Derby Tickets, signed footballs and AFL jumpers.

The Ambassadors and Buddies also watched Fremantle’s victory over Melbourne and will now go back to their schools ready to promote junior registrations, implement the terrific lesson ideas they shared with their colleagues and continue to grow the game in WA Schools.
