WA FOOTBALL COMMISSION - AFL SCHOOL AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR AWARDS
The AFL School Ambassador of the Year Awards has been revamped for 2010 to include six additional categories for nomination to recognise teachers who have excelled in particular areas such as an Outstanding Remote School Program and an Outstanding Multicultural Program.
INTRODUCTION
The AFL School Ambassador (AFLSA) program was introduced into WA schools in 2004. It aims to produce enhanced educational outcomes in literacy, numeracy, health and physical education by providing quality AFL resources to schools and by recognising and rewarding teachers who strongly promote our game in their school and community.
The 2010 AFL School Ambassador of the Year awards will be presented to WA’s best AFL School Ambassadors. The awards should provide additional motivation and fantastic rewards for these teachers who perform at a high level throughout 2010 and over an extended period of 5 or more years.
The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC), through its Education Advisory Group, and supported by the AFL, will present 4 MAJOR AFL School Ambassador awards and 5 Special Category awards in 2010:
These awards will be supplied by our major corporate partner - SCOUT ENTERTAINMENT and associate partner “BHP Billiton Iron Ore, the Principal Community partner of the West Coast Eagles”.
