Eagles Cup (conducted May to August)
The Eagles Cup is a specially designed (minimum three weeks) sponsored primary interschool football competition for year 6 and 7 students. The special modified rules (NAB AFL Junior Rules) allow for maximum participation, enjoyment and skill devel- opment. The emphasis should always be on playing for fun rather than on winning. Every school who enters receives a benefits pack including a football. Dockers Cup (conducted May to August)
A brand new initiative to be introduced in 2010 for primary aged year 5,6, 7 female students. The Dockers Cup will be played similar to one day Lightening Carnival format or a round robin term 2 football competition. Lightning Carnivals (conducted May to August)
Primary schools have the option of participating in a One Day Lightning Carnival organised by the schools in their District and/or one conducted by their local WAFL Club. Both types of carnivals will be supported by the WA Football Commission and WAFL clubs.
Design a Football Jumper Competition (conducted March to April)
This exciting competition is a tremendous way of promoting football in the lead up to the junior football season whilst providing excellent benefits to your school. The competition involves children designing a new jumper for their school football team based on criteria such as local landmarks, school ethos, school population, location of school, etc. The 2 major prizes are a set of jumpers in the winning design presented to the winning schools (one country, one metro).
