FOUR West Australian schools have claimed the top three places in the national AFL Quiz Finals Series, including a clean-sweep of the Year 3 and Year 7 categories.
Santa Clara’s Year 3 class claimed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their year group for WA, Glen Forrest Primary finished second in Year 5, while Kulin District High School finished 1st and 3rd and Dwellingup Primary 2nd in Year 7.
Students worked collaboratively in teams of three to complete the Australia-wide AFL Student on-line Quiz, which is an exciting educational initiative using AFL as the theme to support educational outcomes with a special focus on numeracy and literacy.
The winning students from Santa Clara Primary and Kulin District High School won an AFL “Money Can’t Buy Match Day Experience” and attended last weekend’s West Coast Eagles v Adelaide AFL game with their respective teachers and parents.
Second and third placed teams receive an AFL Store voucher for each team member, which will be presented by WAFC District staff at upcoming school assemblies.
