2012 - AFL Schools Programs in WA Schools

Welcome to what promises to be another great year for AFL in WA schools.

In the past five years, participation in AFL school competitions and programs has increased by 26,210 participants or a massive 60 per cent!

The WAFC Education Team thanks all our great AFL School Ambassadors for their support and looks forward to working with you in 2012 to continue to enhance the literacy, numeracy, physical education and health skills of our students.

Get involved in our new and innovative teacher professional development sessions to learn more about the great range of AFL programs.

Keep a look out for our 2012 AFL School Prospectus which will be arriving in schools in early February or check out our website to see what programs will be available in 2012.

Your District Development staff will be available to assist you with all the school programs so please don’t hesitate to contact them.

 2011 Achievements

  • Increased participation in school football programs & competitions by 26210 participants or 60% in last five years (2007 – 2011).
  • Over 69,000 students participated in AFL programs in WA Schools.
  • 1055 WA teachers have taken on the important role as AFL School Ambassadors since 2004.
  • Assisted these AFL School Ambassadors to enhance Literacy, Numeracy, PE & Health in WA Schools.
  • Built strong relationship with our new major partner Coles who strongly support the national AFL schools program.
