West Australian Football Commission elections

The results of the elections for Commissioners of the West Australian Football Commission were endorsed by the Nominee Members of the WAFC (AFL and WAFL Clubs) at a meeting last night Tuesday, 29 November 2011.


Brett FullartonReappointed for a 3-year term from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2014

Currently the Chairman of the WAFC Football Affairs Committee and a member of the Corporate Governance Committee, Mr Fullarton has been a Commissioner since 2009. He is a senior partner and a member of KPMG Perth’s leadership group and has been responsible for developing strategy and running his area of the business for over a decade.

Peter Coleman Appointed for a 3-year term from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2014

Mr Coleman is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Woodside, a major sponsor of the Fremantle Dockers and two Clontarf academies in the Pilbara. He is passionate about football, having played when he was younger. He also has experience in umpiring and sports administration, coupled with a strong business background.

Larry KickettAppointed for a 3-year term from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2014

Aboriginal Mentor and Community Advisor for Chevron Australia, Mr Kickett has also worked for Rio Tinto and Woodside as an Aboriginal Employment Coordinator and Training Analyst. He was previously involved with the WAFC as a Director of Coaching from 1995-98 and has coaching experience at all levels of the game. He played 158 WAFL games for East Perth and 69 games for Claremont.

Neil RandallAppointed for a 2-year term from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2013

Recently retired Subiaco Football Club President, Mr Randall played over 200 WAFL games before serving as a board member at Subiaco for 20 years. He has been involved with all aspects of football, as well as running a successful hospitality business for 25 years. He is State President of the Australian Hotels Association for 7 years and the current director of HOSTPLUS.


WAFC Chairman Frank Cooper congratulated Mr Fullarton on his reappointment and Mr Coleman, Mr Kickett and Mr Randall on their appointments to the Commission, saying each would add tremendous value with their experience, knowledge and skills.

“The re-election of Mr Fullarton retains his knowledge and experience and the new appointments of Mr Coleman, Mr Kickett and Mr Randall will broaden the skill set of the Commission,” Mr Cooper said.

“We are well equipped to tackle the challenges ahead with energy and enthusiasm.”

Mr Cooper also paid tribute to retiring Commissioners Greg Wall (1.1.09 to 31.12.11) and Professor Jeanette Hacket (1.1.10 to 31.12.11).

Greg made an outstanding contribution to the WAFC over three years as Chair of the Finance Committee and a member of the Facilities Committee,” Mr Cooper said.

“Jeanette also made an excellent contribution during her two-year term as a member of the Football Affairs and Corporate Governance Committees, as well as the Stadium Steering Working Party.

“I am sure football will continue to benefit from their involvement with the WAFC and valuable input into many key issues,” he said.
